Urban Afforestation Project
CERE’s Urban Afforestation Project (UAP) aims to increase the green cover in Indian cities by helping companies, organisations, and individuals reduce their carbon footprint. CERE calculates the amount of carbon sequestered at each plantation site. Our scientific methodology for undertaking carbon sequestration assessments takes into consideration species type, age of saplings and projected growth rates. Sequestration values are calculated as projections over 5, 10, or 15 years. CERE offers carbon sequestration assessments for both sponsored and private plantations. Carbon Sequestration Certification is an integral part of the program and clients are provided with a CERE Sequestration Certificate at the end of the plantation and assessment.
Our Carbon Sequestration Assessment Methodology has been verified by a third party in accordance with the ISAE 3410 standard. The methodology is in conformance with Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol developed by World Resources Institute (WRI) and World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).
