Rainwater Harvesting Project at the Maharashtra Police Academy, Nashik

CERE’s Rainwater Harvesting Project at the Maharashtra Police Academy in Nashik was inaugurated on 3rd October 2019 by Additional Chief Secretary and Director General of Police, Maharashtra State. This project will help harvest 178.36 million litres of rainwater during each monsoon season through the adoption of various rainwater harvesting measures like desiltation of existing ponds, construction of wells, recharge pits and contour trenches, and puncturing of stormwater drains. The rainwater harvested will not only help the inhabitants fulfil their water demand but will also reduce their dependence on municipal water.
